About Me
My name is Kevin Gallagher and I am a qualified Pychhotherapeutic Counsellor. I have a diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and am fully registered with the BACP - the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. My BACP registration number is 410848. I have come to the counselling profession with many years of life experience, both in the UK and South East Asia, but I come with a passion for understanding how all of us function as human beings. I belive strongly that we all have the power within ourselves to heal ourselves but perhaps need some guidance, compassion and empathy along the way to live a happy and meaningful life. I fully believe we all have the right to a life of meaning however we will encounter obstacles along the way and may need a bit of help to get us on our way again.
​Along the human journey obstacles will always present themselves. However to speak of our distress can be counter cultural, but only by sharing of what we are going through with another empathetic human being are we able to work through and resolve the distress, whether it be anxiety, depression, relationship issues, anger issues, sexuality, dealing with loss, bereavement, guilt, shame etc.

As a Pychhotherapeutic Counsellor I am committed to working with you on this journey to look honestly and courageously at your presenting issues. I do not offer a quick fix solution, but rather a fully sincere and honest way of searching for the underlying reasons. It is my belief that we respond to the past, not to the present, and my way of working will help to locate what may have happened in early life or in relationships that is creating the present issues in your life. Evidence has proven that the results of psychhotherapeutic counselling are more pronounced and longer lasting. Although online counselling is popular now, I still believe in the power of face-to-face working so I only in a comfortable home office in the PO16 area and also in a shared office in Chichester. In both locations, confidentiality is assured. You will never be asked to share things which you do not wish you.
I have a particular interest in the spiritual, realising how good spiritual and well established spiritual practices can offer great support in life. However I am also aware of the damage that distorted spirituality and religions can cause and the difficulties of freeing oneself from these manipulations. As I have a special interest in spiritual abuse I am keen to offer help in this area.
